Hoya Tour Ethiopia was founded by Assefa Argachew, who brings deep expertise in Ethiopian Geography and History. With a degree in Applied Geography and Sociology and years of experience in education, Assefa built this company on a belief that travel should go beyond sightseeing — it should connect visitors with Ethiopia’s living culture while supporting the communities who call it home.
The name “Hoya” comes from a welcoming word in the Dirashe language, spoken by the Dirashe people west of Lake Chamo, known for their farming traditions, dance, and rich cultural heritage. This name reflects our philosophy: every journey with us is built on warmth, respect, and authentic connection.
