After early breakfast, transfer to domestic airport terminal 1 for Addis- Gondar flight, after arrival at Gondar airport you will be picked up and continue driving to Sankaber, stopping in Debark check in at the headquarters of Simien Mountains National park ticket office. You will start your trek around BuyitRas at Michib point for a 3-4 hour hike to Sankaber, which passes close to the escarpment edge. Heading Sankaber, you will have beautiful views on both sides of the escarpment ridge and where you will likely see the endemic Gelada baboons (Bleeding Heart Monkey). In Sankaber, you will be met with your supplies.

Walia Ibex
About four to five hour from Sankaber, departs into a valley, through which the Wazla or Koba River runs. This river is often dry. Coming out of the valley you will have views of the Jinbar River (500m) waterfalls falling into the Geech Abyss.The water fall is very seasonal ,and particularly impressive in and after the rainy season(June to November).In the drier months ,the flow is significantly reduce, but it is still a remarkable site. Continuing along, you will cross the Jinbar River and ascend into the village of Geech.

After an early breakfast, depart from Geech to the peak of Imet Gogo at 3926m.Imet Gogo is one of the most beautiful and popular viewpoints in the Simien Mountains. Imet Gogo can be accessed via a somewhat challenging hike from Geech campsite. The summit offers panoramic views of the entire Simile-in ranges; here you will have spectacular views over the lowlands – one of the highlights of the trip. As you continue to Chennek (Chennek is the best spot in the park to see Walia Ibex), you will pass Korbete Metia, a solid rock wall which opens up exposing beautiful views over the lowlands and the escarpment. This is also a good place for spotting lammergeyers.

Today in the morning heading east from Chennek you leave the national park. Continue your trek east up a valley to Mt. Bwahit, overlooking the camp from where you just came. The route to Bwahit passes sprawling fields of giant lobelia trees. After crossing the Bwahit Pass, you come to a viewpoint offering wonderful views of the Mesheha River Valley as well your first glimpse of Ras Dashen. From here, the path descends, passes through the village of Chiro Leba, and finally leads to the Mesheha River. Across the river, you climb back up the valley to the village of Ambikwa.

Starting early in the morning, you will ascend up the valley to the village of Mizma(3500m), after which you will have a steep ascent to a ridge crest overlooking a large valley. The path then follows along the side of the valley, straight at Ras Dashen. You will eventually reach a point where you will view three distinct supports. The supports on the left are the summit of Ras Dashen (4533m), the highest mountain in Ethiopia. A pile of rocks at the top of the supports marks the summit. After your successful arrival at the highest point in Ethiopia, you will return to Ambikwa for overnight.

Today we will you return back to Chennek for overnight camping.

Today you will be transferred out from the park and drive back to Gondar. After lunch, your driver will meet you shortly for your visit to the historic Gondar city tour including the 16th century medieval Royal Enclosure, the nearby Fasiladas bath, and the fascinating Debre Berhan Selassie Church. In the late afternoon you fly to Addis Ababa.

In the evening/afternoon, a farewell party with free cultural dinner and traditional music to experience Ethiopia’s cultural meals and drinks. After the farewell party transfer to Bole international airport for international departure. End of tour.
